You want to discover the real Brazil?….its people?…its culture? Come to Salvador, Bahia and join us on a unique half-day community trip!

Excursions (morning or afternoon) include:

• Introduction, briefing & accompaniment with English-speaking tour leader
• Community project visit & informal chat, hosted by young people and community leaders
• Neighbourhood tour, with local guides to visit places and people of cultural interest
• Afro-Brazilian cultural activity or performance – dance, theatre, capoeira or samba
• Typical Bahian refreshments
• Return transport included.

We welcome your part in helping us achieve our aim of breaking down barriers between peoples from different backgrounds, contributing towards international understanding, respect, solidarity and peace. Enjoy!

Our impact on the local community and more

Taking a community tour allows you the opportunity to really give something back to Brazil, whilst also meeting its people, enjoying its riches & culture and understanding its reality.  Your visit will directly contribute to local community initiatives that seek positive change.  Income generated from tours directly supports the host community projects and Estrela’s charitable work.

This tourism initiative is being led by the host communities themselves, increasing the self-esteem, development, income and inclusion of young people, women and their popular neighbourhoods.

Estrela is a British-Brazilian charity that has been working in Bahia for over 10 years in partnership with local community initiatives, educating, bringing together people from different cultures and benefiting disadvantaged communities.
